What's in season in September?
The British bean and pea season is drawing to a close so its time to feast while we can!
Scallops from the UK coastline should be plentiful. Try frying them with chorizo and dwarf beans and tossing into pasta for an easy and delicious supper.
Make a broad bean dip to pack into school lunchboxes with crudités and oatcakes as an alternative to sandwiches.
Blackberries are the last of the summer’s soft fruit and British apples are in season now – a perfect partnership in pies, crumbles or as a compote with yoghurt.
Dwarf beans· The dwarf bean is the true British green bean! Dwarf beans should always be cooked al dente to be enjoyed at their best.
